"Since the original Bauhaus University in Weimar was under renovation for the 100 Year anniversary, production needed to shoot on Studio Babelsberg's backlot with only the main entrance build for real in front of a gigantic greenscreen. The building and adjacent campus buidlings were created as full CG environment.
"The show was shot using documentary hand-held style and camera zooms. Digital crowds were used to fill the streets of historical Weimar.
"To help director and DP understand the dimensions of the university better on set and supporting the framings, Pixomondo’s proprietary iPad app was used to show the digital extension in real-time as augmented reality." - Sven Martin, PXO VFX Supervisor
