Glacier volume loss refers to the reduction in the amount of ice and snow stored within a glacier over time. This phenomenon is primarily driven by global warming and climate change. As temperatures rise due to the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, glaciers around the world are experiencing accelerated melting and retreat.
