John Kibarian, PDF Solutions: Unlocking $140 bn More Value from Chip Manufacturing with AI
On December 3rd and 4th, 2025, PDF Solutions hosted its Users Conference and Analyst Day in Santa Clara, CA, USA, an event that is held every two years. EE Times' Nitin Dahad sat down with PDF Solutions' president, CEO and co-founder, John Kibarian, to discuss how this can be achieved using real-time analytics and AI.
He discusses the importance of tools communicating data directly with ERP (enterprise resource planning) and MES (manufacturing execution systems), and coordinating the many different data silos to provide useful actionable information for the very complex semcionductor manufacturing process.
Kibarian also talks about the background of PDF Solutions, and why customers (such as Intel and Qualcomm) are so loyal. He talks about the importance of collaboration needed between equipment maker, chip fab, and even fabless companies in enabling a quality final chip. He states that everyone is now responsible for yield, not just the manufacturer.
