My cats have never scratched this model because it's not an interesting fabric to scratch. I think if they scratch it like they scratch a scratching post, for example, it will get ruined. But it's a super smooth fabric. Mine never showed any interest in it. What happens is that they get tiny holes when they jump on it. I showed it in the video about the white cover.
