The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is an action role-playing game developed by Polish developer CD Projekt Red, played in an open world with a third-person perspective. The games are based on The Witcher series of novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. The game takes place in a world based on mythology players control Geralt of Rivia who completes quests exp and gold, he can sometimes use magic, purchase equipment, make or craft it. The music was composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in May 2015, with a Nintendo Switch version released in October 2019, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions planned for release in 2022. With Witcher 3 Remaster Remastered set for 2023. The game received critical acclaim, with praise for its gameplay, narrative, world design, visuals, it has been cited as one of the best video games ever made. Two expansions were also released to critical acclaim. A Game of the Year edition was released in August 2016. The game shipped over 30 million copies, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time.
The World setting is surrounded by parallel dimensions worlds and is filled with humans, elves, and many other creatures cities and town Novigrad, Oxenfurt, Velen, Vizima, Temeria, Skellige islands home to several Norse-Gaels Viking clans and the Witcher stronghold of Kaer Morhen. the empire of Nilfgaard, led by Emperor Emhyr var Emreis (Charles Dance), who the Northern Kingdoms and Redania, ruled by King Radovid V.
