My name's Cheryl I'm a nutritional therapist, yoga teacher and I'm diagnosed with PCOS.

PCOS sufferers don't cope well with stress.

Our PCOS bodies like to switch on stress hormones which unfortunately switch on other hormones like sex and digestive hormones.

So how can women like me, diagnosed with PCOS beat this?

Well, we need to find activities that we enjoy doing that will relax us.

This is vital for managing stress.

So this could be listening to music (my favourite) exercise, dance, relaxation practices or spending time with others.

So to slow down the switch that switches on stress hormones, women with PCOS need to manage levels of stress.

It's also important we find activities that we'll enjoy.

When I started practicing yoga 25 years ago, yoga wasn't as popular as it is now,

In fact, I didn't tell people! I was embarrassed!!!!

But of all the activities I tried, yoga was the one that suited me!

I love going to the gym now, but the gym when I was 22 years old brought on stress and anxiety in me. I didn't like the environment!

Yoga stuck with me and is still a part of my life 25 years on!!!

So women with PCOS need to find something suitable for them and not do what is deemed as enjoyable to others.

I have a checklist to help PCOS sufferers. To get it send me a message or click the link below to get the checklist and email series
