Musée Guimet -- Paris, France (métro: Iéna, area Trocadéro)
The Song Dynasty was 13th c. and this ancient Chinese reliquary seems to have held a carved bone of some sort, a crystal, a golden coffin, and an elaborate housing.
This museum is normally over nine euros to visit but it's free the first Sunday of each month. It contains floor after floor of items from all over Asia. The Buddhist pagoda garden is free and there is a good restaurant in the museum. This is right by the Eiffel Tower and many attractions. I don't think small children would be very entertained here, but the place is accessible.
Photos without flash and recording of things in here is generally always allowed, without restriction.
