First I explained How to test Diode with analogue multimeter. Diode checking using digital multimeter is explained later in this video. Diode checking by digital multimeter is a bit different than diode checking by analogue multimeter. Checking diode in circuit is not advised because in circuit it is connected with other parts so this may lead to wrong readings. Rectifier diode is the same as diode. Basically, diodes are used for rectification process. A PN junction diode is a semi conductor device which is used for rectification and switching in ac and dc circuits of electronics.
