The video shows a delta connection diagram. A star connection is also possible.
In a star connection, the beginnings of all windings are connected to the phase wires, and the ends of the windings are connected to the neutral point. With a delta connection, the end of the previous winding is connected to the beginning of the next winding, forming an equilateral triangle, and all three phases are connected to its vertices (connection points).
Thus, each connection diagram has its own advantages. A delta connection achieves maximum power, although it requires strict adherence to operating conditions. The advantages of a star connection include:
soft start;
operation in nominal mode;
normal response to short-term overloads;
optimal temperature conditions.
