Young Couple Rebuild Abandoned 500 Year Old Cottage Roof | Thatch to Stone Timelapse
After 500 years under a thatched roof, our abandoned English cottage was falling apart. So, with no experience, a few tools, and help from family and friends, we climbed up and began the craziest project of our lives: rebuilding the entire roof from scratch using traditional Cotswold stone tiles.
This is a full start-to-finish timelapse of the 9-month journey to remove centuries-old thatch and replace it with a hand-laid stone roof — filmed across storms, heatwaves, injuries, and tea breaks.
