Pilates for Beginners - 50 Minutes

Welcome to a Basic Level Pilates Routine.

The Pilates method is more than just gymnastics, it's HEALTH. Also known as "contrology," it was created by J.H. Pilates after a lifetime of dedication to the study of the human body.

The program he designed focuses on achieving complete harmony and enabling us to perform any activity in our daily lives with energy and without the risk of poor posture, repetitive, or incorrect movements causing pain or injury in the short, medium, or long term.

The three clear objectives of performing these exercises are to increase strength, increase flexibility, and improve posture.

To experience the benefits of this physical conditioning method, it is essential to be aware of the basic principles that J. Pilates established for its practice:

Concentration:
During the exercises, it is key to concentrate on the area of the body being worked and pay attention to the sensation of the activity being performed.

Breathing:
Good breathing helps control movements and facilitates the stabilization and mobilization of the spine and extremities. As a general rule, you inhale to prepare for a movement and exhale while performing it.

Centralization: The abdominal center is the body's energy center; all movement begins from the center. You should perform movements as if you were wearing a corset.
This connection achieves balance between the abdominal and back muscles, and this connection balances the rest of the body.

Control:
Exercises should be performed slowly, in a coordinated, and controlled manner.

Precision:
This principle focuses heavily on quality, not quantity.

Repetitions are performed with few repetitions, but we strive to do them correctly. As Joseph stated: "Every time you exercise, focus on the right movements, otherwise you'll do them wrong and they'll be useless."

Fluidity of Movement:

The human body is a collection of energies that flow through it constantly. In Pilates, there are no isolated or static movements; rather, you follow the body's natural flow.
