August 24th is the date 100 years ago that Türkiye's founding leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, first wore a hat. He wore a hat for the first time on August 24, 1925, in Kastamonu, and the Hat Law was enacted on November 25, 1925. Instead of the fez and skullcap, the hat became official attire. Today, to mark this anniversary, I wore a hat and read a fairy tale from the Grimm Brothers, featuring a hat.
