Intro video for the ReTab Chrome extension - find it on the Chrome Web Store! (Also available for Safari)

Besides jumping between tabs, with ReTab you can also cycle through tabs history (or go backwards), and make Close Tab to jump to the most recent tab (toggleable).

Here are the suggested shortcuts:
Cmd+E to jump between the most recent tabs, Cmd+G to cycle through recent tabs history, Cmd+Shift+G to cycle backwards - they're customizable shortcuts via Chrome’s extension settings. Tweak it to match your workflow and never waste time hunting for a closed tab again!

ReTab is designed to be simple and lightweight — it uses minimal memory and stays out of your way. That sounds obvious, but we found other tab switchers either broke on newer Chrome versions or crashed multiple times a day. After getting nowhere with their developers, we built ReTab ourselves — and we love using it every day.

Why these shortcuts? Cmd+E and Cmd+G are easy to hit with your left hand and rarely clash with other Chrome commands. Cmd+E is almost unused, and Cmd+G is “Find Again,” which makes them the perfect fit for fast tab switching.

ReTab is also available on Windows and Linux, so you can keep the same shortcut muscle memory across devices.
