I often hear people saying they need to play a tank character, or that they're playing the only tank in the party and go down all the time. I've also heard a DM openly criticize a party for not having a "tank." In this video, I discuss whether playing a "tank" - in the classical sense - is possible in D&D 5e, some of the problems that can happen if you attempt to do that, and what playing a protector type character can look like.
