Month of February every year is celebrated as Black History Month. It is an annual celebration to honor all the contributions and accomplishments of African Americans over the years. President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month in 1976. Since then, every American president has designated February as Black History Month and endorsed a specific theme for each year. The Black History Month 2022 theme is “Black Health and Wellness”.
Black History Month is a wonderful way to honor all the contributions and accomplishments of African Americans to the society over the years but it is equally important to reflect on the current state and actions to be taken.
A time to pause and reflect on inclusion and equality in our own lives.
