Darth Autodesk Fusion 360 Cad Animation
I've received quite a few e-mails and messages about whether or not I performed a cad animation of the Darth model, and the answer is yes I did, and here's a video of the animation.
For virtually all mechanical animated models I design, I utilize a number of Autodesk Fusion 360 features to test for clearances and unwanted contact using both the Contact Set and Combine Intersect features. This model contains 81 3D printed parts and 80 Autodesk Fusion 360 joints (revolute, ball and fixed), so these features came in quite handy prior to 3D printing. The animation certainly tests the ability of my MacBook Pro which explains the low animation resolution (Hint for wife, I need a new computer! Love you!).
Designed using Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced using Cura 3.5.1, and printed in PLA on both an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
