This is NOT a collaboration video for Tanuki Tenkara but this video was made possible by Lady Tenkara Bum and the Heritage Tenkara Project. Thank you for the opportunity to fish these impressive top quality tenkara rods. More info on the HTP below:

A couple of months ago, I found myself in a conversation about Tanuki rods and my interest in them. Lady Tenkara Bum was kind enough to send me three rods she felt represented the Tanuki brand well. In this video I fish the Tanuki 325, Snow 375, and Outbound Adventurer Ninja 320.
The idea (developed in the video) was to catch three fish per rod and then swing back through the collection to catch one more. I fish a creek known for native cutthroat and wild brown trout. I share my thoughts on each rod from the brand. Each rod was fished with the same level line, fly, and tippet to keep the comparisons as consistent as possible.
I found that the Tanuki 375 is the "all around rod" and does everything remarkably well and is very light in weight.
The Tanuki 325 may just be the best pocket rod I have fished. Follow up video coming....
The Ninja 320 OA was delightful. Heavy counterweight in the handle and has a "slingshot/bungie" affect in the casting that I really like.
