[#66] The top companion for smart lamps on Zigbee 3.0 – JetHome WS7
Smart bulbs can't be de-energized—I repeat this mantra in video after video. This is important because as soon as you turn off the power to a smart bulb, it immediately becomes dumb and can't be turned on by either automation or voice control. You just have to power it back up and wait for it to reconnect to the hub it's connected to.
The hero of today's video solves this problem the right way. Here's why:
1. It connects to dumb switches—choose any design you like.
2. It's compact enough to fit in shallow electrical boxes—convenient if you've already renovated.
3. It's battery-powered—no need to worry about complicated wiring; it's easy to create any number of pass-through switches.
