Pi-hole is a free, self hosted, open source project that is so super simple to get setup and running it's absolutely amazing! It basically turns into your new DNS server, and eats all the ads trying to invade your enjoyable internet browsing experience.

You can run this on a raspberry pi, BUT WAIT! You can also run it on any other machine you've got, even on a Digital Ocean $5 droplet.

You can point each device you have at it in the DNS settings, whether you're running it on your own network, or the open internet, and it will block ads, keep stats, and help you have a better web experience. You can also simply change the DNS IP in your network router(s), and now you don't have to mess with individual devices!

It also makes a great addition for your Wireguard VPN setup (you know, since you're setting DNS in the config anyway).
