M4-2000 Mod 08 Suppressor with Noveske Switchblock on 16" Recon Barrel
Here is a comparison of unsuppressed and suppressed fire on my AR-15 with the Noveske Recon (16" midlength) barrel and Switchblock gas regulator using my AAC M4-2000 Mod 08 suppressor. With the selector on "normal", the carbine functions reliably both unsuppressed and suppressed, but when suppressed there is slightly more blowback and the brass is ejected farther. When the selector is set to "suppressed", the carbine will not cycle completely unsuppressed but when suppressed the carbine cycles 100%, blowback is lessened and the brass is ejected 3-4' out of the ejection port. When the selector is set to "off" the gas port is cut off completely and the rifle does NOT cycle at all in both unsuppressed and suppressed fire. The sound level is the least with set to "off" as there is little noise coming from the action and the blowback is almost completely gone...but there still is minimal blowback coming back through the chamber.
