MUGEN |\/| Bridget (me) VS Marx
Okay, so here is me being lazy and fighting a boss again, but its because I suck with most Guilty Gear characters... I mean, I suck with all of them, but I'm especially bad with some of them. I really wanted to play Bridget for my Pride Month videos, so I had to find a way to work with her, just like with Testament last year. Marx was a great choice, though, because once you drop his health for the second time, you actually are allowed to finish him, so you get not only a chance to land a cool finisher, but also a Guilty Gear "Destroyed" move wouldn't feel cheap if used one a character with 1HP.
Also, yeah, Pride Month plays began and I have to say, it took a lot of nerve for the GG devs to make Bridget straight up transition in the middle of her story. Usually I'm against the idea that you can just replace one "type" of LGBTQ+ person with another as if we're interchangeable, but a person that used to identify as a feminine boy eventually identifying as a girl is quite common, so Bridget's story progression with her gender felt natural. A lot of people whined about it being "forced representation" (because of course they did), but it seems that the writers wanted Bridget to be trans from the start, so its more like they were forced to NOT have representation before and now are finally being allowed, and that happens very frequently in companies: writers actually want diverse stories, but higher ups won't allow them. Sure, higher ups only see Pride as a PR thing, but the actual devs usually are sincere in how they want representation.
Speaking of the Pride Month thing, how are my side bars looking? Yeah, its not too great, but I didn't have many options when it came to making it look like a Pride Flag, and I didn't just want flat stripes around the video. I tried a gradient in the rainbow colors, but it didn't look like the Pride Flag, it was very boring, so I dropped that idea. I guess I'll stick to that, so at least there is a signal that I'm having Pride Month videos.
