This is the revised recording of "The Crossing (Osiyeza)" for the album "Covered In Music" by Sirens Harbor & Friends, featuring the a capella Group "EnsemblyX"
The song was written in 1993 by Johnny Clegg, iconic figure in South Africa. An icon not only as a musician but as the "White Zulu" who helped to bridge the gap between black and white.
For their second album "The Art Of Resistance", Sirens Harbor recorded the song in 2019 in memory of Johnny Clegg who had died in June the same year.
Due to the pandemic we had no chance to play live in 2020. That is why we recorded our third album with Coversongs and chose to put "Osiyeza" on it too - with additional recordings of new members in our band and in "EnsemblyX".
Because of the Covid restrictions it's nearly impossible to create a video with 15 people involved. Therefore this video contains free foto and video footage from www.pixabay.com and www.pexels.com
