1. Create a new database with the same name as the old one.
2. Get an FTP account, and upload your files to the server as usual.
3. Install WordPress on your local machine (using MAMP, WAMP, or XAMPP) and create a new database for it as well.
4. In MySQL, add a line to the wp_options table so that it says: _transient_doing_cron=1; If this is not present, create it yourself by running these commands: INSERT INTO `wp_options` VALUES('doing_cron', '1') ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE `doing_cron`=VAL
