Instead of playing passively, this strategy revolves around relentless lane trading and overwhelming continuous damage. By utilizing Shadow Word to constantly pump infinite health regeneration into your carry or apply a burning damage-over-time tick to the enemy offlaner, controlling the side-lane boundaries becomes effortless. The lane completely falls apart for opponents once you layer Fatal Bonds, linking their health bars together and forcing them to swallow heavy shared collateral damage every single time they try to contest a last hit.
As the match transitions into the mid-game, the build completely takes over the map tempo. Weaponizing a fast Arcane Boots or Holy Locket setup allows you to leverage your incredible wave clear to keep dangerous lanes pushed back entirely from the fog of war. Because you can pick up a rapid Aghanim's Shard to summon minor shadow imps that rush forward and impulsively explode for massive damage, you can easily clear out neutral stacks, secure aggressive map vision, and scale your gold generation with zero economic friction.
