Andrew Porter goes through how to perform a ‘hosts’ file override on a Windows PC.

It’s handy thing to know if you’re migrating between web hosting. It allows you to override the DNS for a domain on a particular local machine, without making global DNS changes.

The tutorial makes use of Microsoft Notepad. It’s demonstrated using the My20i control panel, but the process could apply to users of other hosting control panels, too.
