Investigator Evgenia Firsova undertakes the tragic mission of finding the killer of her boss, Major Platnov. Who better than her to know what's going on within the system? The puzzle doesn't fit; the killer professionally covered all his tracks, leaving not even the slightest clue. But this crime turns out to be just the tip of a vast iceberg of contract killings of undesirable police officers. For corrupt interests, the most principled officers within the structure have been purged, and Evgenia stumbles upon an entire criminal clan within the economic crimes department. Firsova herself finds herself in grave danger after digging deeper. Not only is her career at risk; the criminals in uniform sense the law is closing in on them.
