2015 3A Championship: Westminster vs. Blessed Trinity
Westminster defeated Blessed Trinity 38-31 in overtime in a dramatic 3-A state championship victory, securing the school’s first title in 37 years. Trailing 31-17 in the fourth quarter, Westminster scored two touchdowns in 12 seconds, aided by a bizarre onside kick. Isaiah Malcolm’s OT touchdown clinched the Wildcats’ seventh straight road win and the championship. Blessed Trinity was led by Milton Sheldon, who rushed for 253 yards on 37 carries; however, his effort to score in OT ended with a fumble recovered by Westminster’s Joe Egan, sealing the game.
