The mark of the beast being a seal that will restrict buying and selling, at the cost of your salvation sounds like something farfetched, something unbelievable. But what if I told you this has already happened in the past??
In third century Rome, there was a document required of all Roman citizens to buy and sell called the Libellus. But in order to get it you had to sacrifice to the Roman Gods and pray for the well-being of the emperor, which directly goes against Christian values. This was a way of persecuting Christians during that time. If Rome 1800 years ago set up a system where Christians had to renounce their faith in order to buy or sell, this would only be easier and scarier in the future!!
What are your thoughts on the Libellus and how Rome used this to force Christians into renouncing their faith?? #shorts #history #christianity
