Qlik Dork 36 - Demystifying QVDs
It's not unusual that in Qlik environments that could be many years old, new employees and new bosses are a little bewildered by QVD files. In this episode my guest, Dalton Ruer, finds himself in such an environment and asks me for help understanding QVD files, why the exist and why they are layered. Hint --- Qlik has had a lakehouse data pipeline since 1993, we just called it layering. We also go through how you can share the wealth of intellectual property contained in the applications outside of Qlik Sense by storing to CSV or Parquet files.
