I have been teaching myself selenium webdriver with java so far the UI scripting and was going to go on to teach myself all the technologies needed design and build an automation framework
from scratch
I would have gone ahead with above approach and the plan was indeed to do just that. Get to a point where we could put together learning on constructing an automation framework and build on from scratch
However, with my new job there has been a conflict of interest and this also explains why I have been missing for up to four months now without a single video in that space of time
At my current job site i am involved with automation learning, developing and structuring initiative to increase the capability of automation for individual and the business alike
Hence the change of direction for the time being to learn a new technology around a ready made framework in serenity BDD with selenium, cucumber and junit
There are pros and cons in using a ready made framework but with serenity BDD the pros out weigh the cons serenity has in built capability for UI testing with selenium, API testing with Rest Assured and mobile
testing with Appium
Serenity BBD also supports frameworks like cucumber and data driven testing, Junit and has superb
reporting capabilities
Integrates with Jenkins, Mavern and Gradle
