The Looks Good to Me: Shipit interview series features in-depth, thoughtful one on one conversations about the business and craft of software engineering. If you find any of this content valuable, please take a moment to share.
In a recent online discussion around the topic of "the mythical 10x engineer", a friend of mine made the bold claim "they're really not all that mythical."
When I asked them "what makes a 10x engineer then?" my friend simply replied: "Peter Stout."
In this interview we discuss Peter's career from his first interactions with technology to what he's up to today with a goal of learning as much as we can from his experience.
It is also important to note that Peter doesn't refer to himself as a 10x engineer. I found him to be humble, introspective and, incredibly generous with his time and knowledge.
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I do and get as much insight into your professional practice as I have.
