In this short review we go in-depth on how to use the platform kaggle.com — one of the main hubs for learning data science and machine learning. The video includes navigational interface tabs: Competition, Dataset, Model, Learn, Code, Discussion and Kernel (previously). You’ll learn how to search datasets (for example medical images), run free notebooks with GPUs/TPUs, copy and edit other people’s solutions (like Titanic: Machine Learning from Disaster) and participate in both free and prize competitions. We show you how to filter materials by topic (classification, regression, NLP, computer vision), use tutorials from the Learn section and study others’ solutions through code blocks and comments. For students and beginners, Kaggle is an ideal environment without needing to set up your own environment, with pre-installed libraries like Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow and PyTorch. Everything is free—no restrictions at all when starting out. Key features include datasets, competitions, models and free computations. Start simple—solve problems, retrain models, share solutions within the community! Subscribe to our channel where regular breakdowns of tasks, algorithms and tools for IT careers are published.
