Now (2020) Mulawarman University has 13 faculties, 64 Bachelor Study Programs, 7 Profession programs, 14 Master’s Programs, 5 Doctor’s Programs, and 1 Specialist.
Faculty of Economics and Business has 9 Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences has 8 Study. Program Faculty of Agriculture has 5 Study Program, Faculty of Forestry has 3 Study Program, faculty of Teacher Training and Education has 24 Study Program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences has 6 Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has 7 study program, Faculty of Law has 2 Study Prorgam, Faculty of Engineering has 17 study program, Faculty of Medicine has 6 program study, faculty of Public Health has 1 program study, Faculty of Pharmacy has 4 prorgam study, Faculty of Culture sciences has 3 study program.
In carrying out its research function, Mulawarman University has 8 Research Centers representing the scientific field of students. With the research, students are expected to be able to convey attitudes and solutions to issues that happens nationally and globally, develop critical and wise thinking and produce creative and innovative ideas for the benefit of the nation and state.
To utilize East Kalimantan's biodiversity, Mulawarman University creates a Research Center of Medicine and Cosmetic from Tropical Rainforest Resources, to strengthen the academic excellence by commercializing and utilizing research results.
in addition to improve the scholarship in the academic field, students from Mulawarman University graduates must be equipped with competitive soft skills including developing their interests, talents and self-competency abilities as a provision to participate in building the nation.
