1. Harvester
In the chain of logging machines, the harvester should probably be at the very beginning, especially when it comes to timber harvesting. This machine not only fells trees, but also delimbs and divides the trunk into several sections. Its boom has a head that performs all these operations, specifically felling the tree. It also cuts off the tree tops and forms the trunks into bundles.
2. Forwarders
The next stage of logging operations involves machines that collect the roundwood from the felling area, load it onto themselves, and transport it to any convenient and profitable distance for the consumer. These machines are stable and have excellent cross-country ability. They can navigate pits, swamps, and even tall stumps without issue. This advantage is achieved by their six- or eight-wheel chassis, each with independent suspension, making it easy for the platform to maintain a horizontal position. Ground clearance can be adjusted by the operator or automatically (depending on the model), thanks to the hydraulic suspension.
3. Skidders
Skidders are used in logging operations to collect and transport long trees to intermediate storage areas, such as logging roads or warehouses. Skidders are skidders. They are essentially skidders. 4. Logging Trucks
