Toddlers produce a variety of two-word phrases before they produce whole sentences. Scholars have categorized these sentence fragments in "Semantic Relations": entity + attribute, entity + location, action + object and agent + action. These semantic relations form the building blocks of later development in more complex predication and sentence structure.
