BYU Football & Kalani Sitake Getting Uptick From D-Line, Boosting Big 12 Hopes | BYU Cougars Podcast
The BYU Cougars are wrapping up their second week of training camp and Jake Hatch says he holds some cautious optimism that the much-maligned defense line might be able to hold its own for Kalani Sitake, Jay Hill and the BYU football program with coaches of the unit like Gary Andersen, Chad Kauha'aha'a, Sione Po'uha and Kelly Poppinga showing their worth.
Jake then talked with BYU director of strength and conditioning Ryan Phillis about the work that has taken place in the weight room to see the gains and transformations for the Brigham Young University football program this past offseason and what he chalks all of it up to as they seek to hold up better against the rigors of Power 4 schedule in the Big 12 Conference.
Finally, the show wrapped up with a thought on the commitment of Spanish Fork High School four-star prospect Aaron Dunn to the University of Utah football program, marking another high-level prospect that BYU has missed out on of late and Jake says there is one thing, above all others, that BYU needs to show get an uptick in their recruiting efforts in the 2025 cycle.
