With directory synchronization, on-premises users are synced with Azure AD. This video will explain the self-password reset option and what is password write back. When you make changes to on-premises, there is just one change that will come back to on-premises.
The video will also explain Azure AD Connect and its two main scenarios including Password Hash Sync and ADFS.
You will learn with a detailed and technical explanation about both these scenarios, and how they are different in terms of cloud authentication and password. With Password Hash Sync, Azure AD will authenticate all cloud applications, and with ADFS on-premises AD will authenticate all the cloud applications.
The later part of this video will have a demonstration of the creation of Azure AD with a premium license and syncing of on-premises users to Azure AD.
