Kombos. We all love them, and at points, we all drop them. Sometimes its due to bad execution, nerves, input errors, etc. Regardless of the reason, it's going to happen.

With Mortal Kombat X, however, I've found myself dropping far more kombos than I'd expect to. Mainly I've had issues with quarter circle motions in the middle of strings, and for the longest time I thought it was me, or perhaps my controller's D-Pad acting up.

Yesterday, I decided to go back to Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition and do some tests with Kitana.

In this video, I test doing Kitana's specials from neutral and in the middle of a kombo in both Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition and Mortal Kombat X as a comparison.

What I've learned is that I'm not always dropping kombos: sometimes they're failing to come out in Mortal Kombat X despite repeatedly doing the same inputs.

Watch the video and read the text to see, but I'm not sure why this is. Perhaps the game is just crazy more sensitive on its inputs, even with Input Shortcuts on?

Note these are the PC versions of their respective games, and I use a Hori Gempad EX for Xbox 360. I'm also not absolving myself of my own execution errors, as those certainly happen. I cut a few actual dropped kombos out since they don't serve to enhance the point of the video.
