In this showcase snippet, we take a deep dive into a solution that works really well for comics and graphics novels.
The gloss lamination on the cover is the secret sauce here and gives the whole booklet a dramatic aesthetic. The pink, orange and electric blue background works superbly with the gloss and creates a high impact. Gloss lamination is a definite choice you’d need to really consider. You will notice when enjoying our videos that not many publications have gloss covers.
24 inside pages onto 130gsm silk make for a lightweight booklet. They are smooth and classy to touch. The colour reproduction is sharp and bright. Silk is a great choice for both full-colour images and black text. Whereas uncoated might dilute images too much and gloss might well be too shiny, silk is a great middle-ground and no-nonsense selection.
The side profile shows a small amount of bounce stereotypical with stapled booklets that have covers of 250gsm or thicker.
