In this video episode, presenter Maxi meets people with disabilities and talks to them about their perspectives: Do they feel like equal and self-determined members of society? Where does inclusion already work well, and where are there still problems? Are they confronted with prejudice in everyday life, and how do they deal with it?
Maxi explores these and other questions in this episode. He begins by attending a training session of the Munich Iguanas, a wheelchair basketball team. The Iguanas offer both able-bodied and wheelchair users the opportunity to participate in their sport together. Here, he talks with Laura, one of the players, and Gabriel, the coach, about their experiences. He also meets Julia Probst, an activist and Bavaria's first deaf city councilor, in Weißenhorn near Neu-Ulm. During a walk through her hometown, she recounts what it was like to be the only deaf child in her elementary school and whether, in her opinion, Germany is already an inclusive country.
