The as the 5th entry in the Ubisoft Series (hence the name, duh) I rather enjoyed the game as a whole.
I came at it later than the initial 2018 release, so a number of initial issues with the game had been worked out prior to my own playthrough. However even with this post release coding time, this didn’t always stop my own strange experiences from random glitches to classic pop up spawning, (which honestly is a staple of normal Far Cry annoyances, including encounters with random groups of freshly spawned enemies, and the occasional (but fun) attack by the local wildlife). Game-play was smoothly polished and entertaining; the weapons had a gravity about them, the scenery was enjoyable, and with headphones the sound design was better than ever (even if I didn’t get a repeat of the muttering pirates complaining about getting the “clap” as some NPCs would in Far Cry 3). I really did enjoy the game though, and there was a host of things to do and see which kept me coming back to Hope Country for more and more adventures.
If you haven’t played it, I would recommend a playthrough as one can revel in the feel and sounds of a virtual Montana while blowing up everything within eyesight with a random mounted 50 caliber… which is modern day Montana? One could only wish lol.
But, this is one of my strange crappy clip videos so in it you’ll see: Normal Life in Montana (?), flamethrower fun, T-POSE in the WILD, the disappearing henchman, death by destroyed plane, just some crashing planes, nothing to see here, kick your teammates cause… we’re allies, how to offload a corpse from a boat, whoops, and the ever elusive selectively explosive barrel.
