A simple introduction to Textual Criticism 101: Did ancient scribes change what we know as the Old Testament or Hebrew Bible? Modern translations of the Bible are not a translation of a single ancient source; rather they are a composite translation from our various ancient sources written in Hebrew and Greek. When these ancient sources disagree, the work of trying to figure out which version is older is called Textual Criticism.
