Luma's Shove Vole Ranch Nr.4: This is a design for TAMED Shove Voles/Eggs including a Delectavole Buffer
The Critter Ratio will stay the same 1:1 you will not get more than you put in even if you get a Delectavole Egg you will not loose your 1:1 ration because a buffer feeder takes care of that.
I put together 5 different designs:
Nr. 1 Shove Vole Ranch for wild Vole Eggs
• Shove Vole Ranch Nr.1 #shorts
Nr. 2 Shove Vole Ranch for wild Vole Eggs & wild Shove Voles
• Shove Vole Ranch Nr.2 #shorts
Nr. 3 Shove Vole Ranch for tamed Shove Voles
• Shove Vole Ranch Nr.3 #shorts
Nr. 4 Shove Vole Ranch for tamed Shove Voles + Incubators + Delectavole Buffer
• Shove Vole Ranch Nr.4
Nr. 5 Shove Vole Breeder Ranch to increase critter and egg count
• Shove Vole Ranch Nr.5

Warning: Don't let dupes walk though the room with Shove Vole food.
So better close 1 door of the build permanently.
Farm Nr.4 explained:
Tamed Shove Voles take 6 cycles (after growing up) to lay an egg.
But only if it is happy.
It is happy as long as it gets groomed regularely and isn't starving.
(Don't feed it. There is enough time for it to lay an egg
before it starts starving)
An egg takes 20 cycles to hatch or 5 cylces in an regularely hugged incubator.
A tamed shove vole lays tamed eggs.
A Shove Vole hatched from a tamed egg lives until it starves.
A Shove Vole takes 5 cycles to become an Adult.
It starts starving at around age 15 or 16 at that time
it already should have layed an egg
and it dies at age 25.
Dropping 16,000kcal of raw meat in the process.
Since they already layed an egg at that point your ranch
stays the same size.
Giving you free calories faster for manual labor of 1 Duplicant.
Shove Voles have a 2% Chance of laying Delectavole eggs.
That means in the long run your shove voles will be Delectavoles for a while.
As long as they are still wild they will replace themselves with an egg.
This will probably be a regular shove vole egg again but can also be another Delectavole Egg. But if tamed they CAN NOT be starvation ranched like the Shove Voles. Meaning you will be loosing Voles over time.
Hence: THE DELECTAVOLE BUFFER
THE DELECTAVOLE BUFFER will feed the delectavole every 9 cycles 1kg of dirt. Or if you have more than 1 it will feed them 2kg of dirt per cycle.
That keeps them from starving too early.
If they are now also groomed their reproduction rate increases so much, that they lay 1 egg in their lifetime. Giving us the 1:1 ratio back, instead of loosing an egg through delectavole evolution.
These delectavoles can then (after laying an egg) either live out their lives and die automatically or be eaten immediately.
Shove Voles can't traverse a water tile if it has more than 350kg of liquid in it.
They also can not dig through metal, very hard tiles
(like obsidian, diamond and steel) and pneumatic doors.
