Today we'll be heading to the world-famous gold souk in the UAE. This place is legendary. It's said to be home to the largest gold ring in the world. Guidebooks claim that only genuine, high-grade gold items are sold here. The sellers are certified and licensed, and they are regularly inspected. Therefore, it's generally believed that buying a fake or counterfeit item here is impossible. Personally, I have my doubts. A souk is a souk, after all. However, the splendor and opulence of many of the shops is astounding. I was only able to get a price quote in one place, and the seller told me that their most expensive piece of jewelry was a 150-gram gold chain. This "necklace" costs $10,000. So, let's stroll through the souk and see for ourselves.
