Gigafactory Texas on 5 August 2022! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

On the day after the successful and highly optimistic Annual Shareholders meeting (aka Cyber Roundup), we see an almost frenetic pace of progress across the larger construction site. One of these major developments is what appears to be another modular paint shop production line, with several large, green-wrapped sections arriving today and hoisted to the 2nd floor … this joins many more of these modular sections that arrived in the past 48 hours.

In the video intro, I briefly discuss the Cyber Roundup event yesterday, with a few images from inside, and we (hopefully) put to rest the rumor that Elon Musk will construct a private airport nearby … he issued a very clear denial that this was true, noting the international airport is just 5 minutes away. I also cover three main areas we’ll see in the video, including the new east car transport area, the delivery of concrete pipes at the north new electrical substation construction site and progress at the battery cathode plant.

Here are the highlights from today's video:
Major deliveries to paint shop today, likely another large modular paint line! This adds to an already robust capability originally installed and upgraded over the past year! Multiple large modular sections have been (and continue to be) lifted onto the second-floor platform on the north end, then moved inside. This is one more indication of ramped production capability underway at Giga Texas!
There is a very large new car transport area on the east side now, with room for almost 400 cars and 39 transport trucks! This area also has a marked-off roadway within the configured transport area, which may be used for test drives along with positioning cars for transport. This development is enormous, and more than doubles the current south end transport area!
We see a growing south end material storage area, with many more deliveries of steel parts underway and overall, the amount of various building materials continues to grow as stockpiling for future construction continues. This may be fore construction inside the stamping extension area, but as time goes on and materials increase in numbers, it is looking like a new area of construction may also be starting soon. Worthy of continued monitoring this area!
More and varied progress up at the battery cathode plant. One of the most significant changes is the installation of wall mounts on the exterior steel columns This will allow for concrete prefabricated panels very similar in design and appearance to what we see on the main Giga Texas factory structure! We also see rebar mesh installation on the 2nd and 3rd floors ahead of concrete, more floor and roof decking installation on more of the structure headed to the north, and utility trenching and installation on the ground floor and west sides. We also see the large and yellow Liebherr craned being disassembled and part being loaded onto semi-trucks for transport off-site.
On the west side of General Assembly, we see four of the new loading bay cargo levelers being commissioned and exterior lights operational … we should see trucks arriving and unloading in this area soon!
On the east side of Body-in-White, we see continued progress on the new loading dock, with more work on the five new cargo bays cut into the concrete walls, and plumbing work wrapping up ahead of rebar and concrete pours.
On the southwest corner, we see the 20 new superchargers are almost operational, with asphalt paving completed where trenching was recently filled back in.
At the north electrical substation and Megapack construction area, we see the temporary pause in progress continuing as permits are finalized, but we also see many trucks arriving with concrete pipe sections.
