The helicopter chase sequence wasn't even part of the original script. Michael Bay actually came up with the idea when two helicopters suddenly became available. Thanks to the help of pilot Fred North, they were able to shoot the scene in 2 and a half hours. Jake Gyllenhaal actually hung from the side of the door himself instead of using stuntmen, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II live-streamed himself driving the ambulance to his friend. He said it was the craziest thing he had ever done.
