Zero-Inflated Count Distributions
This video describes zero-inflated Poisson and negative binomial distributions which are useful for modeling discrete data that contain more zeroes than would be expected from ordinary Poisson and negative binomial distributions. An additional term is added to the probability mass function to represent the frequency of structural zeroes. Statgraphics 19 has the ability to fit such distributions to data, calculate critical values and tail areas, plot the distributions, and generate random numbers.
