Making a DAMASCUS STEEl PUUKKO
I forged this puukko knife from a piece of 17 layer twisted damascus (1084/15N20 steels). The handle has a brass bolster, stacked birch bark with g-10 spacers, and some stunning stabilized spalted birch. The sheaths for these puukkos are much different than for most of the knives I make. I made the wooden insert from red cedar, and mounded the rest of the sheath out of thin leather.
