In part 4 of this video series, we're going to learn about Principal Stresses and Principal Planes. Understanding how to calculate the principal stresses and the orientation of the principal planes is one of the main reasons we perform stress analysis.

In this video series, we’re going to explore 2D Stress Analysis and Mohr’s Circle. We’ll build up a solid understanding of key concepts including:
✅ Normal and shear stresses
✅ Principal stresses and principal planes
✅ Maximum shear stresses
✅ Mohr’s Circle

We’ll make use of Python in the Jupyter Notebook development environment to visualise the main concepts and to build solutions to worked examples.
