Build Pi-Hole on Raspberry Pi - Block ads from any device
Hi all! In this video we demonstrate how to build, configure and use a Pi-Hole built on a Raspberry Pi. We test on 3 different devices (laptop, smartphone and smart TV). We also display results without Pi-Hole (with ads) and results with Pi-Hole (no ads!)

Steps to flash iso to to SD Card
1. Download Raspian Buster Lite ISO from https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads... (or latest Lite iso of raspbian)
2. Use Etcher to image the SD card with the Raspbian image
3. After image is burned, in the root folder of the SD card, edit a txt filed named "wpa_supplicant.conf"
a. add your SSID and password where needed.
b. save it
Steps to set up Pi-Hole software
1. Connect Raspberry pi to monitor and keyboard (no mouse)
2. Login with Username: pi and Password: raspberry. Create a new password when prompted.
3. Keyboard will not type right so need to run command:
sudo raspi-config
and navigate to localisation options to change your keyboard to US keyboard if needed (defaults to GB localisation)
4. Run commands to update the raspberry pi
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
5. Finally run this command to install the Pi-Hole software:
curl -sSL https://install.pi-hole.net | bash
6. After install is complete you can verify Pi-Hole is running by going to the admin page in a browser:
(http://ip address here/admin or pi.hole/admin).
7. Point your DNS of your router or ethernet connection to the Pi-Hole (and nothing else), restart the router, renew DHCP leases/clear DNS caches as necessary on the clients (or reboot), and you’re set.
